Stop Guessing, Start Growing (in the 100-1k Creator Stage)
Let's Trade Notes on Ideation, AI Workflows & Writing That Connects
Worried Writers in the 100-1k Follower Zone? Let's Swap Notes & Find Our Way.
Hey fellow creators and writers,
Let's be real for a second. Navigating this early stage of building an audience (that kinda nebulous 100 to 1000 follower range) can feel... weirdly isolating, right?
Most new writers quit right before they might have seen real traction. And honestly, I think a big reason is that we have no idea if we're actually doing okay. There's no teacher giving us a grade, no clear roadmap that guarantees success, and comparing ourselves to folks already famous on other platforms often doesn't help.
I've been digging into writing frameworks, marketing guides, even awesome courses like Dan Koe's. They're valuable, for sure. But you know what's given me the best gauge of my progress and the most reassurance?
Chatting with other creators who are right there in the trenches with me, figuring things out too.
It’s like swapping notes in class, but for content creation. Sharing what's working, what's definitely not working, and just generally getting a sense check that you're not shouting into the void alone.
For instance, a recent chat with a fellow writer helped me realize a super practical tweak: I updated my X banner and byline to remove jargon and clearly show I'm a creator, which has already made a difference in how people perceive my profile. It's these small, actionable insights that make a huge difference!
Let's Connect & Figure This Out Together
So, I want to put this out there: If you're also hovering around that 100 to 1000 follower mark, I'd genuinely love to connect.
I've started having weekly chats with other new creators, and it's been incredibly helpful. I prefer video calls because, let's face it, DMs can sometimes feel a bit transactional or like you might be talking to an AI assistant. A real conversation just hits different.
What could we talk about? Here's what's on my mind lately:
🧠 Ideation & Note-Taking Systems: I'm deep into Obsidian, Zettelkasten-style thinking, and generally capturing ideas before they vanish. Happy to share my setup or hear about yours. [Are you constantly looking for fresh content ideas, or losing great thoughts before you can write them down? Let's share how we stay organized.]
🤖 Practical AI for Creators: Beyond just "improving writing," how can we actually use AI? Think summarizing notes, brainstorming from different perspectives (like having an expert team!), automating tedious tasks, and generally weaving AI into our workflow without losing our voice. [Feeling overwhelmed by AI, or wondering how to truly leverage it to save time and enhance your work without sounding robotic?]
✍️ Breaking Down What Works: Analyzing successful posts – the hooks, the structure, the writing that truly resonates. I'm fascinated by writing that provides real value and maybe even acts as a catalyst for change. Currently reading books like Oversubscribed and constantly studying hooks/tweets. [Struggling to capture attention or make your writing truly impactful? Let's uncover the secrets to compelling content together.]
🚀 Your Creator Journey: Honestly, anything else that's on your mind about building online, whether it's on Substack, X, or elsewhere.
You can see some of my learning-in-public journey and the stuff I'm experimenting with over at my digital home: This Substack.
A Casual Chat, Zero Pressure
This is just a super casual, 30-minute coffee chat (virtual coffee, of course ☕).
Zero agenda other than sharing experiences and learning from each other.
Absolutely no sales pitch. I'm doing this because, frankly, I'm feeling the isolation of the creator journey too and genuinely believe connecting with peers is the best way forward. I worry sometimes if what I'm doing is "enough," and I bet some of you feel the same.
We can even swap links to our favorite tools or resources during the chat!
If you vibe with this, are in that ~100-1k follower stage, and any of those topics sound interesting, I'd love to chat!

Little Sneak Peek!
This is what will happen, if you jump on a call with me.
Book a slot (there is always a day’s advance notice). Note: My timezone is Singapore time, I may expand hours later but for now, I am doing burnout recovery + work-life balance.
Google Meet Call for 30 minutes - Optional AI Notetaker (See below)
Emails I will send you the summary of the meeting if you like. and that might be the end of our conversation as I've had with other creators that I chatted with before, or we might continue with DMs, if we enjoyed chatting.
This call is somewhat proof that there is a person on the other side instead of an AI and also just to check if we really have anything to chat about.
You might be wondering about the AI notetaker, and here is how I usually take the notes from a transcript and I get a bunch of insights, insights, tasks, advice. So anything that I mentioned that I would like to share during the meeting, I will be reminded to send you links or book names after the meeting.
Prefer to start with a comment? No problem at all! Drop a comment below and tell me:
Where are you in your creator journey (follower count or stage)?
What's one thing you're currently writing about or focusing on?
What's the main problem or worry you're facing right now as a creator?
I'd love to hear from you, and we can go from there!
Let's figure out this creator thing together.
